About kekePower – What's In It For You?

About This Blog – And Why It Matters to You

If you're into Linux, AI, self-hosting, or doing things your way — not Big Tech’s — you'll feel at home here.
This blog is for people who:

  • Want to run AI models *locally* and stay in control of their tools
  • Like clean, fast, no-BS utilities over bloated SaaS
  • Care about owning their infrastructure and thoughts
  • Appreciate scripting, hacking, and honest tech insights

This site isn't trying to impress an algorithm. It's written for curious humans who build, break, and explore things — like you.

What You'll Find Here

This blog is my lab, journal, and code archive. Expect:

  • Hands-on guides for local LLMs (like Ollama and llama.cpp)
  • Scripts and tools I've written — including the one running this site
  • Honest thoughts on AI, Linux, and where the two collide
  • Benchmark results from real hardware, not theory

I write from real experience — and I share it all so others can build their own stack with confidence and clarity.

Who Am I?

I'm a long-time Mageia Linux user and active packager, scripting enthusiast, and self-hosting advocate. I've been using Linux since the late ’90s and have always preferred to understand what’s under the hood.

Lately, my passion has shifted to AI — especially **local-first AI**. I benchmark, test, and write about large language models (LLMs) you can run on your own machine. If I can't run it myself, I'm probably not interested.

I believe good tech should be transparent, local, and fast. And I believe in sharing what I learn — without hype, marketing fluff, or unnecessary complexity.

The Origin of "kekePower"

Back in the late '90s, I spent a lot of time on IRC. Like many Linux users, I wanted a cool and clever nickname—so I started with format_c. It sounded bold at the time, but in hindsight, it was a bit cringy.

I later switched to mke2fs, a nod to my Linux roots. But someone jokingly said it reminded them of "cake," which sparked an idea. I riffed on the sound and came up with m'keke. From there, it naturally evolved into what became my long-term digital identity: kekePower.

I've used that handle ever since — and today, it still leads straight to this blog.

Still Root, Just Upgraded

I may joke about being root, but this blog is about **giving you access**, not control. Whether you're a dev, a writer, a Linux nerd, or just AI-curious — you'll find tools and thoughts here you can actually use.

This site is built with my own tool: Quick Site Generator 2 — a full rewrite of my original static site builder. Like everything else I do, it's fast, minimal, and under my full control.

Thanks for stopping by. If you're here to learn, question, or tinker — you're in the right place.
